Damnoni, Preveli & Rethymno – A Day of Nature, History & Relaxation

Start your day with a convenient hotel pickup and a scenic coach ride to Damnoni Beach, where your boat awaits to take you on an exciting 30-minute cruise to one of Crete’s most spectacular spots – Preveli Beach.

As you approach Preveli, be prepared to be amazed by the dramatic cliffs of the Kourtaliotiko Gorge, the lush palm-tree forest, and the crystal-clear waters of the beach. The Megalos Potamos River flows through the gorge and into the sea here, creating a refreshing natural freshwater swimming area that’s perfect for a revitalizing swim break. Stroll along the sandy beach shaded by the unique Theophrastus palm trees, which give the area a truly tropical atmosphere – a rare and exotic side of Crete.

After soaking in the natural beauty of Preveli, we return to Damnoni Beach, a stunning bay with turquoise waters. Here, you can relax further, swim, or enjoy a delicious meal at one of the traditional seaside tavernas.

The final highlight of the day is a visit to the charming town of Rethymno, famous for its impressive Venetian fortress, Fortezza. Wander through the narrow, picturesque streets or enjoy a coffee by the vibrant Venetian port, soaking in the authentic Cretan atmosphere and rich history. Rethymno truly is a jewel of the island and offers an unforgettable cultural experience.
